Please come along for a ’50 Mile Pot Luck’ on Friday 16th January at Our Lady of the Waves Hall at 7 pm. This is the grey timber building at the east end of Bayswell Road, Dunbar, just across from the Leisure Pool.
Bring food and drink to share and sample – made (as far as possible) from ingredients that haven’t travelled more than 5o miles from where they were grown/produced to reach your kitchen.
This will be followed at 8 pm by what we believe to be the Scottish Premiere of the film Voices of Transition, a film looking at how we can move towards a more sustainable food system, followed by a discussion.
Plans for bringing the Saleground site in East Linton back to life as a focus for local trading and community involvement have taken a step forward. The vision of the local residents who got together to start this project is to bring the former livestock mart into community ownership and develop it as a community hub and small business park, particularly for creative, ethical and sustainably minded businesses. Today Wingate TRA launch ‘Helping Hands’. Helping Hands is a project the Wingate Tenants and Residents Association has developed as part of their Neighbourhood Resilience Plan. This is a voluntary initiative which is about neighbours caring about neighbours and not an alternative to emergency services of any kind.

With Christmas just around the corner we’d like to invite you to join us to get ready for and celebrate this special time of year at our Zero Waste Christmas Event
Wednesday 10th December , 7-9pm, at the Bleaching Field Centre, Dunbar.
It will be an evening of festive fun, filled with inspiration and ideas of how we can all enjoy a greener Christmas.
We’re thrilled that we’ll have Mairi Brown from Love Your Clothes join us for an up-cycling Little Black Dress workshop, and we’ll have stalls filled with activities and ideas for a Zero Waste Christmas: mending and embellishing clothes, up-cycling decorations, DIY Christmas Jumpers and delicious recipies for leftovers. You could even pick up some stocking filler vouchers for free draft proofing, free bike workshops and much more. Wine and Canapés will be severed throughout the evening.
